The amazing thing about knowing ones self is realizing how we are truly aligned with our own beautiful and unique spirit, and we can completely and authentically be ourselves in every situation. I have always been that person that try to fit in with everyone so people can like me or think I am a nice individual. When I am in the middle of all this pretending I discovered something, that when you pretend to be something you are no you are actually destroying yourself inside. You smile as people accept you for something you are not yet inside you are crying and feeling the pain of denying yourself.
By doing this you are telling yourself that you are unworthy to be seen as who you really are When we don’t feel worthy and can’t accept our flaws and weaknesses, we either shove down our feelings ,which in turn manifests as depression and anxiety, or we express them in unhealthy ways such as anger, passive-aggressive behaviors, or dysfunction.
To be whole you have to accept yourself in all situations, never pretend to be some one else. We simply can’t function at an optimal level and fulfill our potential for happiness and success. Low self-worth undermines our happiness and does not allow you to shine, there will always be people who don’t like you just by looking at you.
